I've Got Thanks To Give (And Work To Do)

Well, my "Goin' To Memphis" Fundraiser is under the bridge and in the books. It was an evening of stellar musicianship, fellowship and friendship. Once again I am humbled by the outpouring of support of friends, colleagues, peers and patrons, and am so thankful to be doing what I'm doing.

I was joined Saturday night by some of the local music aristocracy - Hans Olson, world class bluesman with a global resumé, incredible songwriter and performer Billy Cioffi and his Monte Carlos, blues chanteuse Nina Curri and her musical partner Dan Rutland, and the great blues band Smokestack Lightning. I hope you'll take the time to check out these talented artists' websites, and show them a little of the love they all bestowed on me last weekend!

And now the work continues. For as everyone who's ever had a passion (and an opportunity to pursue that passion) knows, it's the work put in before the show that really matters....

Please enjoy this version of a favorite Leadbelly tune performed by Kelly Joe Phelps "Goodnight Irene"
